You are not under a legal or contractual obligation to contribute. The required fields are needed only to receive, review and—if suitable—publish the memory. Please do not submit sensitive personal information or a photo of a child without a parent or guardian’s permission.
Legal basis
Why the archive may use it.
Consent is used for editing and publishing the submitted name, story, place details and any photograph. Consent may be withdrawn at any time. Legitimate interests are used for the limited private processing needed to moderate submissions, prevent abuse, keep a decision record, respond to rights or correction requests and secure the service. There is no automated decision-making or profiling with legal or similarly significant effects.
Storage and sharing
Who receives the information?
Pending submissions are available only to the archive owner and the platform and infrastructure providers used to host the site, database, security logs and photograph storage. Approved public fields are visible to anyone on the web. The archive does not sell contributor information or use submission emails for newsletters or advertising.
Retention
How long is it kept?
Pending material is kept only while it can reasonably be reviewed. Declined material and unused uploads are removed during routine moderation. Approved contributions are retained while they remain part of the public archive; the private email is retained with that record so the contributor can be identified for correction, rights or withdrawal requests. Records are deleted when no longer needed for those purposes or when a valid erasure or withdrawal request applies.
Your rights
Access, correct, restrict, object, erase or withdraw.
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights to access a copy, correct inaccurate information, request erasure or restriction, object to legitimate-interest processing, and withdraw consent. To correct or withdraw a submission, email webmaster@beefeatermemories.co.uk with the submission reference, the email used and enough detail to identify it. A public memory can be taken down while a request is checked.

Site data
Visits, analytics, logs and links.
The hosting service may process essential request, security and aggregate visitor information to deliver and protect the site. This site uses the Google tag for Google Analytics (measurement ID G-JMY547RKYP) with analytics storage denied by default. Before you make a choice, the tag does not set analytics cookies; it may send cookieless signals including the consent state and country. If you accept analytics, Google may use first-party cookies to distinguish visits and collect page activity, approximate location, and browser and device information. We use its reports to understand and improve the archive. If you decline, analytics storage remains denied. You can change your choice using “Analytics settings” in the footer. We do not use memory-submission emails for analytics or enable advertising personalisation through this tag. External links have their own privacy practices. Advertising and affiliate links
Advertising stays off until consent is properly handled.
Google AdSense is not loaded unless a Google-certified consent management platform is explicitly enabled for UK and EEA visitors. The separate analytics choice does not grant advertising consent. When advertising is disabled, this site makes no request to the AdSense advertising script. Read Google's privacy policy ↗.
The archive may later use clearly labelled affiliate links supplied through Awin, Amazon Associates, eBay Partner Network or Booking.com. No placeholder is rendered as a clickable link, and no programme is described as active until an approved account and destination URL have been supplied. Changes
This notice will change when the processing changes.
